Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU) in Khairpur, Sindh, has formally declared the academic credentials and records of 1,184 Bachelor of Laws (LLB) candidates invalid following an extensive investigation into their educational documents. Out of a total of 1,248 candidates whose profiles underwent scrutiny, the university confirmed that only 64 had submitted verified and genuine records.
Breakdown of Disputed Academic Batches
The institutional probe revealed systemic discrepancies spanning several academic cohorts. According to findings released on October 18, 2026, the invalidated records include 658 students registered under the three-year LLB degree track representing the 2016, 2017, and 2018 batches.
Additionally, the university declared invalid the academic files of 526 candidates enrolled in the five-year LLB degree programme belonging to the 2017 academic batch.
Evidence Assessed by the Inquiry Committee
The administrative decision followed an audit conducted by a designated inquiry committee. During the verification process, investigators examined primary documents including student examination records, attendance registers, institutional fee records, and corresponding bank statements alongside supplementary educational paperwork.
Following the audit, SALU management noted that the corrective action was necessary to dismantle irregular enrolments and preserve the standing of bona fide candidates holding verified qualifications.
Referral to Regulators and Bar Councils
SALU has forwarded its complete inquiry findings to the Higher Education Commission (HEC), the Pakistan Bar Council, and relevant provincial bar councils to initiate necessary legal and administrative proceedings against non-compliant individuals.
The extensive volume of invalid qualifications has raised fresh scrutiny over admission monitoring mechanisms and student verification protocols across affiliated law colleges. Official consequences for those affected remain contingent upon determinations made by regulatory and licensing bodies.
