The Punjab government has finalized plans to inaugurate the distribution of the Honahar Scholarships and laptops on October 15, marking the start of a multi-phase educational rollout across the province.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz is scheduled to preside over the inaugural distribution ceremony, which will take place at the University of Sahiwal. The development was confirmed by Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat in an announcement shared on social media.
Initial Phase Covers Sahiwal Division Districts
According to the provincial education minister, the opening ceremony will specifically cater to eligible students from three districts: Sahiwal, Okara, and Pakpattan. The event will serve as the formal launchpad for the provincial administration’s latest student support initiative.
Following the primary gathering at the University of Sahiwal, the government intends to expand the distribution ceremonies to cover the entire province over the coming weeks.
Province-Wide Rollout Scheduled Across Nine Divisions
The provincial administration plans to conduct similar ceremonies across all nine administrative divisions of Punjab throughout October and November. Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat noted that the remaining divisional events will follow sequentially in the weeks ahead.
The minister expressed confidence that the scheduled rollout across the remaining divisions would be completed within the designated two-month timeframe.
Allocation and Quotas Remain Undisclosed
While the schedule and venues for the initial phases have been established, specific distribution figures remain unconfirmed. The provincial government and the education minister have not yet disclosed the exact number of Honahar Scholarships or laptops earmarked for distribution at each divisional ceremony.
