The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has established the National Faceless Centre (NFC) in Islamabad, marking a central step in the ongoing restructuring of Pakistan’s tax administration framework.
Reforming Tax Audits and Assessments
The creation of the National Faceless Centre is part of a broad reform program designed to overhaul how tax audits and assessments are managed nationwide. The faceless framework aims to modernize core processes, altering the traditional interaction model between taxpayers and revenue authorities during tax compliance evaluations.
Board Approval
The institutional decision to set up the centre was formally authorized by the FBR Board in Council during a high-level meeting held on September 25.
As the tax authority proceeds with implementation, additional operational mechanisms are expected to outline how the Islamabad-based centre will interface with field formations across the country.
