A group of 14 Pakistani maritime crew members stranded at the Port of Aden in Yemen have appealed to the Government of Pakistan for urgent diplomatic intervention to facilitate their safe return home.

Stranded Aboard Detained Vessel

The seafarers are currently aboard a ship that has faced extended detention at the Yemeni port. With the situation unresolved, the crew has raised serious concerns regarding their ongoing welfare and the conditions aboard the detained vessel.

In their appeal, the sailors urged relevant Pakistani state institutions and diplomatic authorities to step in, engage with local port officials, and take necessary measures to ensure their repatriation to Pakistan as soon as possible.

Welfare and Repatriation Concerns

Maritime crew detentions often involve complex administrative, legal, or commercial disputes between vessel operators, port administrations, and maritime authorities. In such circumstances, crews frequently face mounting difficulties concerning supplies, communication, and prolonged uncertainty regarding their status.

The stranded sailors emphasized that timely consular and diplomatic engagement remains critical to resolving their predicament and safeguarding their wellbeing while procedures at the port are sorted out.
