Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan has established a new world record for the highest aggregate runs scored in a three-match Twenty20 International series between International Cricket Council Full Member sides. Farhan achieved the milestone during Pakistan’s bilateral series against Sri Lanka, eclipsing the previous benchmark established by India’s Abhishek Sharma.

Record-Breaking Output Across Three Innings

Farhan compiled a total of 238 runs across three matches against Sri Lanka, surpassing Sharma’s tally of 229 runs, which was recorded against Afghanistan in 2026. The 30-year-old batter demonstrated consistent output at the top of the order throughout the engagement, registering three consecutive half-centuries. His sequence of scores included knocks of 89, 73, and 76.

His sustained scoring was instrumental in steering Pakistan to a 2-1 series victory over Sri Lanka. Alongside his individual batting milestone, Farhan was named Player of the Tournament, marking a successful start to his tenure as Pakistan’s T20I captain.

Extended Run of Form in Twenty20 Internationals

Farhan’s performance against Sri Lanka continues an extended run of high productivity in the shortest format of international cricket. Across his last 11 T20I innings, the right-handed opener has amassed 632 runs, cementing his role as one of Pakistan’s key top-order contributors.

The tally of 238 runs stands as the highest recorded by any batter in a bilateral three-match T20I contest contested by Full Member nations. His successive half-centuries provided early stability and sustained momentum in each contest of the three-fixture engagement.

Dual Responsibility as Captain and Opener

The series against Sri Lanka represented Farhan’s initial assignment leading the national T20I squad. By managing the tactical responsibilities of captaincy alongside the workload of opening the batting, his performances provided leadership from the front and stabilized the batting unit as Pakistan prepares for upcoming international fixtures.
